Contemporary Interior Spaces with Nicole Kelly

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

Join award winning artist Nicole Kelly in a two day painting workshop exploring Contemporary Interior Spaces in oils or acrylics. The workshop begins with Nicole setting an interior for you to paint and draw from life. On the second day you will be encouraged to choose a selection of your own compositions either working from drawings, earlier paintings or personal photographs. You will draw and paint from these to create a sustained painting. Nicole works closely with each individual, encouraging you to develop your own style and aesthetics, within the parameters of your own level.

What to expect

Nicole will work with you to explore pallet set up, mark making, colour and composition, painting from life vs working from drawings. Students will be encouraged to try new approaches, build on existing skills, pursue their own particular interest and develop critical language around painting practice.

Is this course right for me?

This painting workshop is open to anyone, from beginners to those with prior experience. Beginners will learn the fundamentals, building on skills and confidence. Those with prior experience will benefit from Nicole’s contemporary approach to painting with a focus on modernist techniques and colour.
