Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully before completing your enrolment and payment.

‘Class’ in the Terms and Conditions outlined here refers to any term course or workshop, delivered in-studio or online.

Art Est reserves the right to update the Terms and Conditions at any time. The Terms and Conditions, once published on this page, will be effective immediately.

Using your Creative Kids Vouchers

Please read our information on how to redeem your Creative Kids voucher with us before enrolling. Click here for details. There are no refunds once a Creative Kids voucher has been redeemed nor can Creative Kids Vouchers be retrospectively applied if you have already paid.

Cancellation, Refund and Transfer Policy

Art Est. reserves the right to amend any class, tutor, or schedule. In such circumstances, we will endeavour to provide a substitute of equal standing. Should a class have to be cancelled for any reason, such as insufficient enrolments, any student enrolled in that class will be contacted and an alternative class, credit or refund arranged.

Policy for Short Courses and Workshops (excludes School Holiday Workshops)

No Refunds

Fees are non-refundable, unless negotiated for an extended illness. A small administration fee may be charged to cover credit card merchant fees.

If your choose to cancel a class, we do offer you the opportunity to receive a credit or to transfer your booking. Conditions apply, see below for more details.

Cancellation of enrolment or withdrawal from a Class

If you choose to cancel your enrolment or withdraw from a class, what you will receive back depends on the time you notify Art Est. See our cancellation timeframes and options below:

  • Cancellations up to 7 days before class commencement

If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop up to 7 days before its commencement, you will be charged a $25 administration fee. You may transfer the remaining value (class fee paid less administration fee) to another class or student to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received. You will not receive a refund for the course or workshop fee paid.

  • Cancellations within 7 days of class commencement

If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 7 days of its commencement, you will be charged 50% of the class fee. You may transfer the remaining value (half of the value of the class fee paid) to another class or student, to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received. You will not receive a refund for the class fee paid.

  • Cancellations within 2 days of class commencement

If you cancel within 24 hours days before start date, you will not receive a refund, transfer, or credit.

  • Cancellations once a course has commenced

You will not receive a refund, transfer, or credit once a course has commenced other than for illness with a medical certificate.

Missed classes

There are no transfers, credit, refunds or make up sessions if you miss a class or if your personal circumstances change.

Student substitutions for Workshops

If you have enrolled in a workshop that you cannot attend, you may transfer your enrolment to someone else. Please let us know prior to the workshop.

Student substitutions for Term Courses

If you are enrolled in a term course and if for any reason you are unable to attend a class during the term, you CANNOT give your place for the missed week/s to someone else. If the term has not yet commenced, you may transfer the whole of your enrolment to someone else. Please let us know prior to the course commencing.

Policy for School Holiday workshops

Our goal is to run all the advertised workshops. However, we sometimes change a workshop theme, age range or tutor due to insufficient enrolments or other circumstances, and occasionally cancel a workshop altogether. In such circumstances, any student enrolled in a cancelled class will be transferred to another suitable class in the same time and parents will be notified. If no alternative class is available at the same time, a credit or refund will be arranged.

No Refunds

We do not provide refunds for cancellations or missed workshops. However, we do offer the opportunity to receive a credit or to transfer your booking. Conditions apply, please see below for more details.

Cancellations fees and credit or transfers options

If you choose to withdraw from a school holiday workshop the day before its commencement, you will be charged 50% of the class fee per cancellation. The remaining workshop fee will be held in credit, and this credit must be used within 6 months.

To avoid the cancellation fee, you may transfer the booking to another child, such as a family member or friend, at no charge. Please let us know of any transfers at the time of cancellation.

  • Cancellations on the same day of the workshop date

If you choose to withdraw from a school holiday workshop on the day of the workshop, you will not receive any credit.

COVID-19 Policy

Student cancellations due to Covid-19

If you are currently a student, any changes to your existing enrolment can be made in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. In order to receive a credit should you need to withdraw from a class based on medical advice or from NSW Government directive that you should be isolated at this time, please:

  • Provide minimum 24 hours notice
  • Cite the reason, and
  • Provide relevant documents to support your request such as a doctor’s certificate or your positive Covid-19 test results in advance of your class.

Change of mind due to Covid-19

If you choose to withdraw from a class due to change of mind, you may receive a credit. You must notify us at least 7 days in advance of your class via email to art@artest.com.au There will not be any refunds for change of mind.

Payment of fees

Class fees are listed with the course details on our website. Payment of the full class fee is required at the time of enrolment to secure your place. We accept Visa and Mastercard payments for online enrolments.

If you do not wish to enrol via the web, you can enrol in person at our office. We accept Visa or Mastercard card, EFTPOS, and online direct deposits into our bank account. Fees are inclusive of GST and tax receipts will be provided on receipt of payment.

Discounts on fees

We offer a number of discounts on fees, and these are listed below.

Early bird: Enrol and pay for an 8 week or 6 week term course by the date specified in the course description and receive a 5% discount on the course fee. This term early bird discount does not apply to weekend workshops or summer art school workshops.

Term Bonus: Any adult student enrolled in a full short course receives a 10% discount on any weekend workshop in the same term. Please phone to enrol and receive this discount.

Siblings: 10% discount on term fees for the second child. Maximum discount on any one course 10%. The early bird offer does not apply to second child. Sibling discounts do not apply to school holiday workshops, only term classes. Please phone to enrol and receive this discount.

Seniors: 5% discount on short courses or workshops. Early bird offer alsoapplies. Maximum discount on any one course or workshop 10%. Must quote date of birth and Senior Card number.

Multiple courses: Enrol one person in two or more short courses in the same term and receive 10% discount on the second and subsequent courses of equal or lesser value. Maximum discount on any one course 10%.

Pensioners and concession card holders: 5% discount on adult 4 or 8 week short courses or adult workshops on quoting pensioner or concession card details. Early bird offer applies. Maximum discount on any one course or workshop 10%.

The following conditions apply to these discounts:

  • None of the listed discounts apply to children/teen school holiday workshops.
  • These discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer or where the fee is already reduced (exemption on Pensioners and concession card holders and Seniors);
  • Discounts must be requested when you enrol and pay (retrospective discounts will not be applied);
  • Discounts do not apply when you are using a ‘complimentary’ or ‘prize’ Gift Certificates to enrol
  • Maximum discount on any course or workshop is 10% unless a special limited discount promotion is offered.
  • Creative Kids Vouchers are not considered a discount, this is a government funded subsidy.

Gift Certificates

‘Purchased’ gift certificates are valid 12 months from the date of purchase or until the date listed on the certificate. Our Cancellation and Refund policy applies to ‘Purchased’ gift certificates used to pay for classes.

‘Complimentary’ gift certificates are issued from time to time as prizes for competitions and fundraisers. These are valid for 6 months from the date of issue or until the date listed on the certificate. No extensions will be given. ‘Complimentary’ gift certificates cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, special offer or gift certificate. The Gift Certificate cannot be used to purchase art materials.

No cancellations, transfers or credits are possible when a ‘Complimentary’ gift certificate is used to pay for a class.

Absenteeism

Fees are non-refundable, unless negotiated for an extended illness, and there are no transfers, refunds or make up sessions if you miss a class or if your personal circumstances change.

Art Materials

  • Adult classes: Materials lists for classes are included in the class information on the websites. Students are required to supply their own art materials unless otherwise specified in the course or workshop description.
  • Kids and Teen classes: Materials are supplied and included in the fee for all children’s art classes and holiday workshops. Occasionally, a children’s class may require some additional items to be supplied by the student. This will be specified in the class description if so.

Course Recognition

Art Est. Art School is not a Registered Training Organisation and as such, courses are not accredited. However we do strive to deliver excellence in art education. A Record of Attendance can be provided on completion of a course which you can download when you complete the post-class short evaluation.

Marketing Material

From time to time we take photos during class of students and/or their artworks. If an online class, we may also save and use any images that have been shared via our online platforms such as Padlet. These images are used for Art Est. Art School’s promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for Art Est. As a Condition of Enrolment your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos/images of you, your child or your artwork please notify us in writing.

Student conduct

Art Est. Art School is a shared space and we expect students to respect fellow artists, artwork and property. Discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age, race sex, gender, sexuality, marital status, physical or intellectual disability, or religion will not be tolerated. Students deemed to be exhibiting inappropriate or disruptive behaviour may be removed, suspended or expelled from the class. It should also be noted that cleaning of your class art space and common areas is a shared responsibility.

Punctuality

Out of respect for other students and tutors, students are requested to be punctual for class. Children should be escorted to and from the art school by a parent or guardian, signed in on arrival and collected promptly at the end of class.

Occupational Health & Safety

If you have an existing medical condition, allergy or disability that may affect your participation in a class, you should notify the Director, Art Est. at the time of enrolment.

Privacy

Contact information you supply to Art Est. will not be disclosed outside the school without your express consent, except where required by law. We do not retain any credit card information that you may provide.

Art Est. will from time-to-time send mail and email to students and past students for the purpose of marketing. Should you not wish to receive mailings from Art Est. please notify us that you wish to unsubscribe, and you will be removed from our mailing list or you can simply unsubscribe at the bottom on the latest email.
