Course Overview
Join Tania Mason to explore the broad and numerous areas of Illustration - using pen, watercolour and gouache to draw and paint subjects that inspire us! Birds, Fauna, and Botanicals will all be covered in this course, referencing past and contemporary images to get there!
Gouache is a medium close to watercolour and is best friends with acrylic. Watercolour is a tricky and delightful medium and we will learn to harness its variety of approaches to painting our subjects. Fundamental drawing skills to support illustration will also be taught as learning to draw is the best thing you can do for your art practice.
Within this class you will explore all these components and more to produce a series of illustrations on watercolour paper.
We will look at the original work of amazing artists throughout the ages and learn how to pull apart and study their work to make our own beautiful creations! By utilising Tania's experience in botanicals, birds and illustrations in a variety of subjects, you will blossom, grow and feel confident in a contemporary way within your art practice.
