Join Mellissa Read-Devine for this bold and colourful landscapes workshop. Learn how to simplify shapes and keep your colours bold and bright, learn about colour mixing, composition and much more.
Bring along photographs of landscapes/gardens that you might like to paint. Mellissa is known for her impressionistic style of painting, has been the recipient of many award and prizes and is displayed in many galleries and private collections. She is a regular tutor all over Sydney and we're pleased to have Mellissa at Art Est for several workshops throughout the year.
Is this course right for me?
Some prior experience with acrylics is assumed. Students should have attended at least an introductory workshop or class.
Materials
Please bring the following:
- Bring along photographs of landscapes/gardens that you might like to paint. Please print these out to approximately A4.
- Your acrylic paints. Bring what you have, please use good 'artist' quality paints. Inferior paints do not produce good results. We recommend Matisse Derivan or Atelier brand paints
- Your brushes. A selection of large and small bristle brushes
- Stretched canvas or canvas board
- A palette knife
- Your painting palette
Colours recommended
Bring whatever colours you have, with the following selection giving you a key palette mix:
- Titanium White
- Magenta or Alizarin Red
- Cadmium Red
- Pthalo Blue
- Cerulean Blue
- Yellows (cool and warm)
- Dioxyzine Purple
