This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

Bring your curiosity, a willingness to learn, and enjoy learning skills for painting landscapes and urban scenes in watercolour. This is a practical three-hour session where we'll cut through the complexities and get down to the essentials of painting nature scenes. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is all about hands-on learning. You will learn a range of watercolour techniques, including colour mixing, brush control, and composition to give you a solid foundation.

You'll leave with a landscape painting you can be proud of, and maybe a few new tricks up your sleeve.

Saba Manesh is a watercolour artist, originally from Iran who trained in watercolours as part of her degree in Urban Design. "Watercolour is my passion, and each painting tells a story of places I've explored and tried to depict emotions I've felt and the connection I have with the world around me as an artist and landscape architecture. My art is a reflection of the seasons, the landscapes, and the beauty that exists everywhere either in a landscape or a bunch of flowers."

What to expect

In this workshop, students will gain confidence in using watercolour to develop a solid understanding of advanced watercolour techniques for landscapes, also explore the emotional impact of colour and brushwork in landscape painting.

Course testimonials:

  • This is my second workshop w Saba and it was the same high standard as the first. She has a love for the medium and seems to really enjoy teaching! My friends and I allappreciated her attention to detail on basic elements such as differences in paper, brushes etc. She explains and demonstrates clearly and really works the room while students are working. It would be great to have a regular class with her now so we can really dig in.
  • Saba gave an excellent introduction to watercolour and also gave lots of useful tips for those with more experience. I especially enjoyed Saba’s calm, positive manner and learning more about her variety of brush strokes. Many thanks!
  • Saba went back to the basic foundations of understanding watercolour painting which was interesting and easy to understand. I felt my technique benefited greatly!
