Janet Parker-Smith

Janet Parker-Smith is a Sydney based artist who works with cross disciplinary processes using Printmedia, Sculpture, collage and Altered books. She has been exhibiting nationally and internationally for over 30 years. Her work deals with identity, displacement and the environment.
Janet has held several solo exhibitions at May Space Gallery. She exhibits at Sydney Contemporary and has been a finalist in many art competitions. She has had work purchased by the Art Gallery of NSW and National Gallery of Victoria. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections. She was recently commissioned by Willoughby Council to create a large-scale copper art work for the Chatswood Library.
Janet works in teaching Public Programs across Australia and is a sessional teacher in Printmedia at the National Art school and Sydney College of the Arts. She has also been involved in public arts projects with various councils across Sydney as an arts worker.
She is an experienced Printmaker and has printed for various artists including Locust Jones, Debra Dawes, Rebecca Beardmore, Pia Larsen and UK artist, Mario Minichello.
