Resume
Julia is an artist who works across painting, sculpture, textiles, and drawing. Working in an improvised way, Julia combines colours and patterns to create abstract pieces that are whimsical, quirky and joyful.
Her fascination with patterns and colour stems from a background in textile making and design, and her interest is in creating a sense of harmony within colour arrangements.
Julia’s bold designs were featured in the fashion collab Julia Flanagan x Gorman for their Summer 2020 collection.
Julia was a finalist at the Hazlehurst Art on Paper Award (2019), winner of the Georges River Sculpture Prize (2019) and was highly commended for the small sculpture prize at the GreenWay Art Prize (2018).
