Juliet Holmes a Court
Resume
Juliet Holmes à Court is a Sydney painter who has been exhibiting regularly since 1991. Her work is about capturing the sense or feeling of her subject, and her paintings are often filled with light and movement.
With classes that are fun and packed with information, Juliet says she "teaches everything that I wished I had been taught when I studied. Good teaching is about giving – and for painting – it involves giving an understanding of the materials, of drawing, of brushstroke and composition and the history of painters that have formed our cultures."
She has had 13 solo shows, exhibiting at the Australian Galleries, Sydney and Melbourne, Mosman and Manly Regional Galleries. She has won the Waverley Oil Prize and her work has exhibited in the Archibald, Paddington, Mosman, Mornington Peninsula and Portia Geach Prizes and more.
Juliet regularly teaches term classes and workshops at Art Est and has lectured at the AGNSW for over 15 years.
