15 July 2021 Update | Term 3 Enrolments

Art Est courses will be back for kids, teens and adults with our Term 3 program kicking off on 26 July! Given the extended lockdown in Sydney, our 8-week art courses will be running online via Zoom, with the hope that we can return to face-to-face studio sessions soon.

Moving online: What does this mean to the term program?

At Art Est, we will only run our courses if we are confident that the experience will be enjoyable for both students and tutors.

With this in mind, we are able to offer the majority of our courses and have specifically tailored these courses for an online workflow but a handful of courses will need to be paused due to certain requirements they need. In particular, we have to pause our ceramic and pottery classes for the time being.

However, if your current course is no longer available please consider an opportunity to learn something new for Term 3 and utilise our new Loyalty Offer (see below).

So, what happens next? | Term 3 key dates and offers

Priority Enrolment | 15 July – 17 July Students who were enrolled in term 2 have early access and can enrol in the same course for Term 3 with a 5% priority discount on the course fee (in addition to other applicable discounts). You will be notified via email.

Priority Enrolment (NEW loyalty offer) | 18 July – 20 July If you are a Term 2 student and your current course is temporarily unavailable for Term 3, Art Est is offering affected students a 10% Loyalty discount for those that stay with us and enrol in a new course*. You will receive an email and the opportunity to join another course of your choice.

Early Bird Enrolment | 21 July – 25 July Our courses will be live on the website and anyone who books and pays for a Term 3 course during this period will receive the early bird 5% discount.

Term dates: 26 July – 18 September 2021

This is when the fun begins!

What is Art Est's plan for the future?

While our preference is to run face-to-face classes, our classes will run online via Zoom until it is safe to resume studio sessions. We are following the NSW Government guidelines extremely closely and will notify students when this is possible.

We appreciate that these are very unpredictable times, so we thank you for your understanding and patience, and we hope our regular art classes continue to offer you some comfort and much-needed community support during these times.

Thank you and see you in our Zoom Art Room very soon!

*Cannot be used in conjunction with other offers

28 June 2021 Update | Ceramics

Due to the relocation of Art Est on 19 July, we have to pause enrolments for our ceramics classes. In the meantime, you can find the class you like online and join our waiting list to be notified as soon as classes are back on!

Please note: If you have done a class with us, please ensure you have collected all your pieces from our ceramic studios by Friday 9 July at the latest, otherwise they will be recycled. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take any unclaimed work to our new location. Please ensure you take some time to review what pieces you have remaining with us.

Glaze your ceramic piece before Art Est relocation

Due to the recent lockdown in greater Sydney announced on 25 June, unfortunately, we are not able to host our usual in-studio glazing sessions. As we are relocating on 19 July, we want to make sure everything is glazed, fired and collected before we move. So, if you have bisque ware waiting to be glazed, our tutors can do the glazing for you so you can have a completed functional piece before we move location.

9 June 2021 Update | Farewell Lords Road

In 2008, the doors to Art Est were open, a fledgling art school in a rustic warehouse in the back streets of Leichhardt. The vision was to create a space where people of all ages and abilities could discover their artistic potential in a professional studio environment with practising artists.

We have done that, and more. Over the past 13 years, we have employed local artists, offered a platform for new and emerging artists, provided high-quality and accessible tuition, and more importantly, we have become a community.

Sadly, our time in our Lords Road warehouse has come to an end as we were given the notice to vacate. Our last day on-site will be 30 September 2021.

After months of searching, extensive negotiating with landlords and agents, and exploring a huge range of options, we have found two new permanent homes opposite each other on the corners of John and Hill Street Leichhardt to be opening in early 2022.

On behalf of the Art Est team, we deeply appreciate your support over the years, and especially now. We are remaining positive and embracing this exciting new opportunity for change and growth.

There will be more details to follow soon.
