Outline:
Discover the captivating world of cyanotype printing in our new workshop. This workshop uses the sun to expose the print of leaves and plant parts placed on the cyanotype paper. Cyanotype is a unique alternative photographic technique that uses light-sensitive chemicals to create beautiful blue-and-white prints. Learn how to expose plants and other compositions to UV light. Develop your prints to reveal stunning blue tones. Your tutor will guide you through each step, and no prior experience is necessary. Cyanotype printing offers a delightful blend of science and art, allowing you to express your vision in a distinctive and visually striking way.
What will students take home?
By the end of the workshop, you will have a collection of unique cyanotype prints on paper that showcase your creativity and newfound skills.
School Holiday Information
To ensure our students have a great time with us over the school holidays, we ask parents and guardians to please take note of the following:
- Students should bring a drink and a healthy nut-free morning or afternoon tea snack and their waterbottle.
- Please sign your child in and out 10 minutes before/after their session.
- Ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for a potentially messy art class.
- If your child has any allergies, medical issues or special needs, please make it known to us at the time of booking. Any medications must be clearly marked with your child’s name, photo ID and action plan.
- If your child is staying for two sessions (morning and afternoon), Art Est provides a supervised lunchtime break and will ensure children are safely escorted between buildings where necessary. Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and a hat and sunscreen. If weather permits, they may be taken to a nearby park during the lunchtime break.
