Remember Tin Tin? Asterix? These comic series often featured their characters going on intrepid adventures around the world. This workshop is inspired by those kinds of comics and storylines. Young artists will design their own personal characters and then draw their characters in a variety of exotic locations. Paris, Cairo, Hampi, New York anywhere the story requires. This is a class for artists who dream big and draw bigger.
This class focuses on drawing cartoon characters in their environments - this is often an area where young artists struggle.
What will students take home?
Their very own cartooning sketchbook filled with drawings and plenty more pages to continue at home.
School Holiday Information
To ensure our students have a great time with us over the school holidays, we ask parents and guardians to please take note of the following:
- Students should bring a drink and a healthy nut-free morning or afternoon tea snack and their waterbottle.
- Please sign your child in and out 10 minutes before/after their session.
- Ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for a potentially messy art class.
- If your child has any allergies, medical issues or special needs, please make it known to us at the time of booking. Any medications must be clearly marked with your child’s name, photo ID and action plan.
- If your child is staying for two sessions (morning and afternoon), Art Est provides a supervised lunchtime break and will ensure children are safely escorted between buildings where necessary. Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and a hat and sunscreen. If weather permits, they may be taken to a nearby park during the lunchtime break.

About our studio classes
Our class sizes are small, ensuring all students receive the individual tuition they need. We have a maximum of 12 students per class. For kids and teen classes, art materials are included in the fee. To learn about our studios, kitchen facilities and how to get there, click here.
