Explore the peculiar inhabitants of the dark depths of the ocean in this fun and informative workshop. Steampunks, Jellyfish, Anglerfish, Warty Frogfish, Giant Hatchet Fish and more. Look at the work of Ernst Haeckel who enjoyed drawing and painting all kinds of creatures. Learn to draw and paint some of your favourites and some of the weirdest and maybe make up an imaginary one or two.
What will students take home?
A complete artwork on high quality watercolour paper to proudly show off at home.
School Holiday Information
To ensure our students have a great time with us over the school holidays, we ask parents and guardians to please take note of the following:
- Students should bring a drink and a healthy nut-free morning or afternoon tea snack and their waterbottle.
- Please sign your child in and out 10 minutes before/after their session.
- Ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for a potentially messy art class.
- If your child has any allergies, medical issues or special needs, please make it known to us at the time of booking. Any medications must be clearly marked with your child’s name, photo ID and action plan.
- If your child is staying for two sessions (morning and afternoon), Art Est provides a supervised lunchtime break and will ensure children are safely escorted between buildings where necessary. Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and a hat and sunscreen. If weather permits, they may be taken to a nearby park during the lunchtime break.

About our studio classes
Our class sizes are small, ensuring all students receive the individual tuition they need. We have a maximum of 12 students per class. For kids and teen classes, art materials are included in the fee. To learn about our studios, kitchen facilities and how to get there, click here.
