The primary focus of this illustration master class is to demystify and practice perspective drawing. Tutor Sam McNair will guide young artists to create multiple finished illustrations using ink and colour to also create tone and depth. The wonders of the ancient world are the inspiration for the drawings in this adventurous illustration workshop. This is especially for young illustrators fascinated by history and architecture and keen to improve their drawing skills. As in all Sam's workshops there will be a balance of step-by-step instruction and creative challenges
What will students take home?
Each student will take home their own sketchbook of several finished illustrations in pen and colour and plenty more pages to continue at home.
School Holiday Information
To ensure our students have a great time with us over the school holidays, we ask parents and guardians to please take note of the following:
- Students should bring a drink and a healthy nut-free morning or afternoon tea snack and their waterbottle.
- Please sign your child in and out 10 minutes before/after their session.
- Ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for a potentially messy art class.
- If your child has any allergies, medical issues or special needs, please make it known to us at the time of booking. Any medications must be clearly marked with your child’s name, photo ID and action plan.
- If your child is staying for two sessions (morning and afternoon), Art Est provides a supervised lunchtime break and will ensure children are safely escorted between buildings where necessary. Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and a hat and sunscreen. If weather permits, they may be taken to a nearby park during the lunchtime break.

About our studio classes
Our class sizes are small, ensuring all students receive the individual tuition they need. We have a maximum of 12 students per class. For kids and teen classes, art materials are included in the fee. To learn about our studios, kitchen facilities and how to get there, click here.
