Expressive Animal Painting with Tannya Harricks

Course overview

Dogs are a regular subject in Tannya Harricks' work and she was commissioned by Walker Books to paint the illustrations for picture books Dingo (2018) and Kookaburra (2020). In this workshop explore your favourite animal subject in a loose and expressive way. Bring your own dog/animal/pet reference and sketches to paint from and have fun exploring different approaches and techniques to help loosen up and develop your individual approach to painting.

Course testimonials:

  • The workshop was brilliantly balanced with the right amount of theory, demonstration and time for actual painting by students. I would highly recommend Tannya as a teacher and this workshop.
  • Loved this course. Fellow group members were all pretty accomplished. Tanya put on music , and was very giving of herself. She shared some of her work, The day flashed past.Would love to do another one with her.
