Online | Creating an Art Practice through Visual Journaling | Serena Geddes

Overview

Welcome to this 4-week course where you will learn the importance of a creative daily practice without expectation and capture your day using various art forms such as watercolour, pencil, collage and mixed media.

When our minds are overactive or blocked, putting our hands to work can ease mental overload and interrupt negative thought patterns. The process of visual journaling can help you move through creative blocks, and is the perfect travel companion that you’ll reflect on more than your photos.

What To Expect

  • Each week we will learn about the benefits of a daily art practice, how to translate your words into a visual image, tips to get you started on your illustration piece and explore different mediums and techniques. Most importantly, we will drop expectations and replace them with curiosity to have fun in the process.
  • By the end of the course, students will have learnt different styles which they can apply to their daily practice, know how to create a reflective illustration piece, and learn to create with a mindful mindset.
