Make a Ceramic Sushi Serving Set

Course overview

Learn to make your own Ceramic Sushi Serving Sets, including tray, dipping bowls and other elements. No prior experience necessary and all materials supplied, just bring your enthusiasm. In this relaxing ceramics class students will:

learn a range of clay hand building (including slabs and coils) techniques (no pottery wheel involved!) to make their set.
learn about and experiment with a decoration techniques such as sgraffito, relief, impressions to add decorative elements to their set
how to use underglazes and dipping glazes to add colour and make your items

All of these skills can be applied to making other objects later on.

Materials and what to bring

All materials supplied
Bring an apron and wear close toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting clay on. We recommend removing jewellery and watches before starting.
Price includes kiln firing. How this works: Teapots are first bisque fired this generally occurs within 2-3 weeks of the workshop. You are then able to glaze the pot which will require another kiln firing or we can glaze it for you and you can collect it (approx 4 weeks after the workshop)
