This course will involve drawing, painting, etching, character design, illustrations and journaling. The aim is to showcase how journaling can evolve from a simple sketch into a story.

We will explore different mediums, colours, techniques and styles by drawing inspiration from various artists, people and our everyday environment.

Over the term students will:

  • Learn about the benefits of a daily art practice
  • Learn how to translate your words into a visual image
  • Be introduced to storyboarding and thumbnailing
  • Explore basic drawing techniques and manuscripts
  • Experiment with different mediums
  • Learn about illustration, layout and text

Class activities are structured to stimulate student's imagination and build creative writing and illustration skills
