Introduction to Watercolour Painting with Tanya Baily

Welcome to the wonderful world of watercolour painting! Tanya will introduce you to all the essential techniques of watercolour through practical exercises, with students painting real objects and scenes. You will get an understanding of how to apply the washes to the paper, how colours are mixed and manipulated and have fun experimenting with a range of wet-in-wet and dry painting techniques.

Tanya will explain the different watercolour materials, pigments, and papers, and you will learn a little of the long and varied history of watercolour painting through to the contemporary artists of today. You will leave with the confidence to join other watercolour classes and workshops, or simply to continue to practice in your own time.
