Discover the process of bookbinding. In this workshop you will learn three different binding techniques. Sydney-based artist Janet Parker-Smith will demonstrate a wide range of techniques related to bookbinding to be used for journals, drawing diaries, and original artist books. The binds that will be covered in this class include Japanese, single signature hardcover, and a concertina. These techniques determine how the pages are held together and the overall appearance of the book. Students can then use their individual materials to create unique books.
