Course testimonials:

  • I was really happy with the course I took. Marie was really great at explaining the thought process behind oil painting and how to achieve different effects (light quality, painting in a dark background, etc.) She was extremely approachable for questions, and at times of my painting frustration, she was really great at seeing and giving great feedback on what needed to change. She is a great tutor and I look forward to taking another class from her soon!
  • I got what I needed and a lot more from this course.I wanted to know how to get started with painting in oils-preparing the surface and how to approach a painting. In a really laid back way, Marie got me past self consciousess, got me thinking tonally and with a gentle yet authoritative manner she guides the class and each individual in everything from mixing colours to ways of seeing. SO much learning in four short weeks. Our class had students ranging from accomplished painters to absolute beginners at any kind of painting and we all came such a long way under Marie's tutelage. I hope that I can learn from her again, it was a thoroughly enriching and inspiring experience.
  • It's a great course so informative Marie is a great teacher/artist. Every week I learn new skills. What's great about this course is that it keeps building on the previous 4 week block.
