Let's go to the arctic and make an igloo in this snowy-inspired workshop. Learn a range of sculpture techniques to build your igloo in clay, and then make a little penguin or snowman to go with it. Add colour when you paint it with underglazes ready for bisque firing in our kiln.
What will students take home?
A ceramic sculpture for you to proudly show off at home. The artworks made in this class will be fired in our kiln so kids will not take their artwork home on the day. The work needs to dry out before bisque firing, we then glaze the work and fire again in our kiln. We will send you an email notifying you when to collect your artwork so keep an eye on your inbox. Please allow about 3 weeks until they are ready to collect.
To ensure our students have a great time with us over the school holidays, we ask parents and guardians to please take note of the following:
- Students should bring a drink and a healthy nut-free morning or afternoon tea snack and their waterbottle.
- Please sign your child in and out 10 minutes before/after their session.
- Ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for a potentially messy art class.
- If your child has any allergies, medical issues or special needs, please make it known to us at the time of booking. Any medications must be clearly marked with your child’s name, photo ID and action plan.
- If your child is staying for two sessions (morning and afternoon), Art Est provides a supervised lunchtime break and will ensure children are safely escorted between buildings where necessary. Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and a hat and sunscreen. If weather permits, they may be taken to a nearby park during the lunchtime break.

Our class sizes are small, ensuring all students receive the individual tuition they need. We have a maximum of 12 students per class. For kids and teen classes, art materials are included in the fee. To learn about our studios, kitchen facilities and how to get there, click here.
