Textiles | Creating Landscapes with Felting Techniques | Denise Lithgow
Course overview
An inspiring textile/felting workshop for students who want to try something a little different. In this fun one-day workshop you will design and create a landscape inspired 2D hanging artwork using textiles rather than paint. Students will use pure merino wool, felting techniques and added fabrics to bring a favourite landscape/seascape scene to life. Denise will guide you through the design and creation process introducing you to techniques and materials.
Denise Lithgow is one of Australia’s leading textile artists. Her 2-D felt pictures and sculptured felt vessels are colourful, vibrant semi abstracts which are inspired by her love of the landscape. Denise exhibits regularly in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, has won many prizes, is published regularly at home and abroad and continues to search for new forms of expression.

Is this course right for me?
Suitable for absolute beginners to experienced felters. Enthusiasm and imagination are the best ingredients to bring along to this workshop.
Materials
Your tutor will supply the materials needed for this workshop at a fee of $25 per student. Please bring cash to pay on the day.
Please also bring the following items:
- Images of landscapes you may wish to use as inspiration
- Pens, note book.
- Plain bath towel (used for rolling and felting)
Tea and coffee is provided, please bring some lunch.

Our class sizes are small, ensuring you receive the individual tuition you need. We have a maximum of 12 students per class.

Site Directions
Our new Main Studios are located at 10 Hill Street Leichhardt, an the corner of Hill Street. John Street runs between Moore Street and Styles Street in the 'east village' precinct of Leichhardt near White's Creek Annandale.
Parking
There is no on-site parking. Please allow time to find parking in the surrounding streets. We request you do not park at the lower end of Hill Street as it is a narrow, dead-end street where residents park.
