Team Building Ideas

Make your next work event fun and arty. Everything is hands-on and you can choose from a range of engaging and entertaining art making, such as printmaking, painting, mixed media, creative collage, and more.

Our workshops cater for all levels of artists and no prior experience or skill is required as our tutors will guide you step by step, while allowing you to explore your individual creativity.

The workshops are held in our inspiring warehouse art studios and gallery, so participants feel like real artists from the moment they arrive. Begin your art journey in our gallery then move to the art studio which is set with everything you need to create a masterpiece.

Workshops are generally three hours duration, which includes the art workshop, all art materials, and your finished masterpieces to take back to your workplace or home.

Group workshops are from $150 per person (minimum 8 participants).

While Pablo Picasso said "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life", we think a glass of bubbly at the end of your workshop does the trick too!

Workshop Themes

Oh What a Relief | Printmaking

A lively printmaking workshop. Learn simple and effective printmaking techniques and, using your own themes and designs or ours, create imaginative printworks on paper. Begin with drawings, learning what will work best as a print. Be shown how to transfer your designs onto etching ‘plates’ to create prints. Each person will learn how to ink up their ‘plate’ and use the etching press to print their artwork on quality printmaking paper.

(Limited to 10 participants)

Clayworks | Cubist Sculptures

Using Picasso and Braque’s cubist urban landscapes as inspiration, we will be creating our own slab constructed clay sculptures. Working in team, participants will collaborate to create an abstracted cityscape in clay. As sculptures will be pre-glazed and fired, individual sculptures will be constructed to enable kiln firing (if you wish), and assembled to form the completed artworks. Other themes for sculpture also possible – only limited by your imagination.

Collage and Relief Sculpture

This workshop will include experimenting with collage and relief sculpture. Have fun learning new ways of experimenting with materials that are not always associated with art. We can reference the work of an artist, such as Picasso or Braque, as our starting point and using materials such as magazines, paint, pastels, card, wire and so on, we’ll make our own interpretation of that work, or work from your imagination or set your own themes in line with your corporate objectives.

Wonderful Watercolours

Learn quickly how to paint with watercolours in a loose style that does not concentrate on a lot of detail. We’ll also look at some paintings by famous Australian artist John Olsen, who was inspired by Australia’s exotic and beautiful bird and frog life. Enjoy creating artwork that combines drawing and painting and coloured inks painted on with bamboo sticks. This method will enable you to tackle all sorts of subjects with confidence. You will come away with a feeling of wonder and addiction to this extraordinary watery paint.

Reinventing a Masterpiece

In this challenge, each team or individual creates their own version of a famous painting.  Participants will all strive to reinvent the masterpiece, and are encouraged to give it their own spin if they wish. Guided through the activity by experienced artists, everyone will recreate a painting by the same artist or genre such as Van Gogh, Picasso or Monet, the Expressionists, Impressionists or Cubists!
