Five: A Retrospective Exhibition
Exhibition of artworks reflecting five years of Art Est. Since opening in 2008, we have hosted many exhibitions for Art Month, Head On Photo Festival and the GreenWay Arts Prize, as well as work by our own students and tutors. This exhibition will feature a selection of art spanning 5 years.
Gelatine Printmaking Workshop - hosted by Derivan Matisse
Find out how easy it is to make intricate prints using a gelatine plate made of food grade gelatine, Matisse Open Medium and Mattise Flow acrylic paint. As the plate is flexible you can pick up amazing details from stencils, stamping tools and found objects. All materials will be provided by Derivan.
The Art Scene - Pop Up Shop
Lauren from The Art Scene at West Ryde will be here with a big range of art materials so you can stock up on everything you need for your courses and workshops this year.
Art Est. opened its doors in February 2008, bringing together qualified teachers and practising artists to present a wide range of visual art programs for both adults and children. There’s a focus on drawing and painting, with printmaking and sculpture in the mix.
Since opening, Art Est. has built a reputation for offering an extensive program of courses and workshops taught by award winning artists including Todd Fuller, Susan Baird, Rachel Fairfax, Carla Hananiah and Bernhardine Mueller. In 2013 we launch our Masterclass Workshops series with renown artists such Cherry Hood, David Fairbairn, Suzanne Archer and Harrie Fasher
Established by Director Jennifer McNamara, Art Est’s philosophy is to enable students to learn practical techniques from practising artists, and discover their artistic potential in a professional studio environment. It’s a niche market that resonates with people who want to learn real skills in small classes without the pressure of assessment.
Our comprehensive range of term courses and weekend workshops cater for all levels of artist from beginner to advanced. Children five years and over can explore their creativity in weekly classes and school holiday workshops. Exhibitions, art parties and corporate events are also held regularly at Art Est.
