OperArtUnity - Thursday 18 March 2010

We promised you a magical night at OperArtUnity on 18 March and that it was, raising $13,000 for Opportunity International!

Thank you to all of our artists who donated artworks that contributed to this amazing result.

The event featured the captivating voices of internationally renowned soprano Lisa Harper-Brown and countertenor Christopher Field as well as the culinary delights of Billy Kwong's ex-chef, O Tama Carey.

All proceeds assist Opportunity International Australia in changing the lives of 250 people living in poverty in India.

Opportunity International Australia

Opportunity International is a not for profit organisation that exists to provide opportunities for people living in poverty to transform their lives. With over 35 years' experience in micro finance and support services, they use a business approach to solve poverty. Rather than a hand-out, they provide individuals with a loan as small as $100 (microfinance) to help grow their small business. This enables them to earn an income and afford food, water, shelter and an education for their children.
