New classes for Term 3 commence 22 July

This term we're introducing some great new courses including Art Discovery on Tuesdays, and Sculpture and Mixed Media, and Printworks on Fabric on Thursdays. Bernadette's Discovering Drawing and Painting class is so popular, we're now offering this class on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

In each of our classes, children learn about artists, art history and art genres while having fun being creative in a safe and nurturing environment.

And teenagers in Years 10, 11 or 12 can join any of our adult classes to extend their senior school and HSC art practice.

A class for primary students who wish to explore all aspects of the art room in a fun way. Special attention is given to creative activities based upon a wide range of two- and three-dimensional projects. Painting, sculpture, collage and drawing techniques are taught. Students look at the artwork of important artists as inspiration for a creating their own art projects. Color and line, creativity, perception, and imagination are considered and encouraged in a constructive atmosphere.

Fun with colour is a program that investigates all aspects of colour theory and its practical application in a fun learning way. Each session will study famous works of art and artists as a basis for exploring exercises in colour including foundation techniques in mixing colour. In the last 2-3 weeks, children will produce a major work that encompasses their engagement with colour as a visual language.

This course continues next term as Creative Composition, and then the Advanced Painting and Mixed Media class.

This course is for students who have a genuine interest in developing their artistic creativity. It will focus on the individual with one-on-one consultation each session to tease out strengths and develop a concrete art practice. Each student will work on major works throughout the course concentrating on technique, composition, colour and artists that inform their work. The aim of 'Advanced Painting and Mixed Media' is for students to expand and work out a genre and style that is particular to them. They will explore and refine their individual methods and approaches to painting.

This is a practical printmaking class which is a fabulous art experience for everyone in your family. Learn a variety of simple and effective techniques, and create imaginative printworks on paper using foamcore, lino tiles, or collage on card. Print on an etching press to creative beautiful cards, bookmarks, or artwork ready to frame.

Other art themes also available, such as mixed media or acrylic painting, or we can design a unique program.

Make your next birthday party fun and arty. A birthday party at Art Est. is full of imaginative art activities. Everything is hands-on and the children choose from lots of engaging and entertaining art making such as printmaking, painting, mixed media, creative collage, and more.

You can choose to do your own catering, or have us take care of it. Either way, we ask you to provide your own birthday cake.
