Discovering Drawing and Painting

Term 3 Art for Children

This term we're exploring art to enable children to build their skills and confidence in a fun learning atmosphere.

In each of our classes, children learn about artists, art history and art genres and enjoy unlocking their creativity in a safe and nurturing environment.

Returning students will continue to enjoy new art projects within their courses and new students will join their creative path.

And students in Years 10, 11 or 12 can join any of our adult classes  (10% off adult course fees) to extend their senior school and HSC art practice.

If you enrol two or more children from the same family in any term classes, you will also receive a 10% discount on fees.

Discoveing Drawing and Painting

Students work with a variety of drawing and painting materials creating aesthetic art works from a vast array of subjects. Through discussion of a new artist each class, students will build their skills and confidence in a range of art styles in a fun learning environment. Color and line, creativity, perception, and imagination are considered and encouraged in a constructive atmosphere.

Art Discovery Art Class

A class for primary students who wish to explore all aspects of the art room in a fun way. Special attention is given to creative activities based upon a wide range of two- and three-dimensional projects. Painting, sculpture, collage and drawing techniques are taught. Students look at the artwork of important artists as inspiration for a creating their own art projects.

Fundamentals of Drawing and Painting

Explore the art of the Modern Masters from Impressionism through to Surrealism, such as Claude Monet and Salvador Dali. Over seven weeks, students will discuss the work of an artist as the basis for doing studies using using a variety of media. The final two weeks of the course allows students to explore their own expressive art style, inspired by the work of the Modern Masters and aided by the technical advice and skill development gained during the term.

This course is suitable for students wishing to build their technical art skills and individual expression through an investigation of famous art and artists.
