What better way to celebrate your special event than with a unique art party! Activities can include life drawing, contemporary acrylics, mixed media and cartooning, or we can tailor an art activity especially for you.

Each activity is designed so that everyone has fun and completes an artwork regardless of their artistic confidence or ability!

On arrival guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and nibbles in the Gallery. We can arrange additional catering for you, or you are welcome to bring your own drinks and food on a byo / self service basis.

Pre-dinner workshops are popular when you want to combine a fun activity with dinner in one of Leichhardt’s fabulous restaurants, many of which are within walking distance of Art Est.

Have fun with expression as you create a colourful work of art on canvas. Choosing your own colour scheme and taking an intuitive and care free approach to your paintings, you’ll enjoy discovering your inner artist! Guests can bring a photo of a significant landscape as inspiration for their artwork, or can paint a still life (eg flowers) or other subject matter to be determined in consultation with you.

Participants will paint individual paintings to keep, and can also collaborate to produce a work of art for the person celebrating an event such as their birthday or wedding.

An hilarious insight into the world of cartooning in Australia! Enjoy general discussion and learn how to draw cartoons. There is no special drawing experience needed and no age limit. This art event may suit people with a reasonable general knowledge and a capacity to discuss current affairs without taking things too personally. A sense of humour would be good too!

Discover the world of printmaking as you use the dry point etching technique used by the masters such as Rembrandt to create works on paper using a printing press. Design art cards, or works to frame, and create and edition (multiple prints) that you can keep or give away. Guests can bring pictures as inspiration, or we can supply visual stimulus.

This is a fun art activity where you’ll all enjoy some artistic exploration using paint, inks, pastels and charcoal. Through painting, drawing, stenciling, layering and assembling, guests can experiment with a variety of art materials and collaborate to create individual artworks on canvas. Designs and themes can include facts about the person whose event is being celebrated.

Whether you've ever picked up an artist's paintbrush or not, you will create a work of art you can live with. Choose your colour scheme, and you'll be show how to paint a work of art on canvas that you'll be proud to hang in your home.

Why not order individually embroidered aprons for everyone to wear and keep as a fabulous a memento of the event. Aprons feature the Art Est. logo, and can be individualized with each person’s name on their apron, or have the same words embroidered on each, such as “Claudia’s 30th” or you can just order one for the main person.

Another great memento of your event, and guests can sign or write messages on the apron.
