Art Exhibitions, Prizes and Opportunities

We encourage our artists and students to enter their artworks in various exhibitions, art prizes and art shows. Below is a list of exhibitions and opportunities.

Paddington Art Prize
This is a $20,000 acquisitive prize for a painting inspired by the Australian Landscape. Now in its seventh year, the National Finalists Exhibition Opening and Prize Presentation will be held Wednesday 13th October 6pm-8pm, at Menzies Art Brands Gallery. Disc entries 1 September, painting delivery 5 and 6 October.

Glebe Art Show
It aims to support and encourage both emerging and established artists living or working in the Glebe area, and to promote the work and services of the Glebe Library. Works to be submitted by 13 September. Open Prize $3000, with $1000 prizes in other categories. Opening night 17 September and exhibition on show until 26 September.

Hornsby Art Prize
Entries are now open for the 2010 Hornsby Art Prize which has a total prize pool of more than $15,000 is up for grabs. The artwork judged best overall (the Hornsby Art Prize) will win cash, a scholarship and gift vouchers to the value of $6,590. Entries close 5 November. Exhibition will be held from Wednesday 24 November to Sunday 28 November 2010, with prize giving on 27 November.

Revolver is calling all artists
Revolver is a new inner west cafe wanting to give up and coming artists a place to show what they can do. Not just another cafe/gallery selling art. There is one space only to showcase your art for a month in 70cmx100cm in a beautiful old gilt frame. Revolver has a stunning Victorian / hip hop flavour that is a new space for locals in the Annandale area.
