Art Prizes and Opportunities

We encourage our artists and students to enter their artworks in various exhibitions, art prizes and art shows. Below is a list of exhibitions and opportunities.

Strike a Pose
Entries are now open for Strike A Pose – the Mannequin Festival, with artists, businesses, schools and community groups invited to create a mannequin artwork of their choosing on the supplied canvas - a plastic female torso - that demonstrates their unique talents. The mannequins will be displayed on a special Mannequin Walk through Double Bay from March 17 to 28, with the winners announced on Friday 19th March. Proceeds will be distributed to assist the “Lifehouse at RPA Chris O’Brien Capital Appeal” and directed to future art festivals in the local area. Entry forms close on 31st January 2010 with artworks due for submission on the 12th March 2010. Download an information pack at:

Insight/ Out of Sight Art Competition
Artists are invited to come up with designs to paint on traffic signal boxes in the Leichhardt Local Government Area. Traffic signal boxes are the dull grey boxes that stand at every traffic light, and contain the electrical equipment that power the lights

Eight finalists will be chosen to implement their designs on these boxes, in order to transform them from dull grey boxes into artworks that inspire, delight and provoke thought.

Revolver is calling all artists
Revolver is a new inner west cafe wanting to give up and coming artists a place to show what they can do. Not just another cafe/gallery selling art. There is one space only to showcase your art for a month in 70cmx100cm in a beautiful old gilt frame. Revolver has a stunning Victorian / hip hop flavour that is a new space for locals in the Annandale area.
